Report of Captain’s Day @ Littlestone, 27 Sept 2020

Captains Day @ Littlestone

A strong contingent of 18 arrived at Littlestone somewhat apprehensive about what the weather gods were going to deliver but after 7 holes of playing into a fierce 50mph wind the shackles were released and some high quality golf was played. Tales of taking 8  to reach the 5th and of 400 yard drives on the home stretch were exchanged within our golf bubbles at lunch as we tucked into comfort food and the Captain’s wine. Suitably re-freshed all were keen to play in the afternoon.

Congratulations to Johnathan Swinney and Tom Owens for winning the Camp candlesticks with a fabulous  foursomes score of 33 points, 4 clear of the field.
It was so good to see our 5 youngsters (U30!) enjoy themselves but our Hon Sec gave them a lesson in the afternoon greensomes of the advantages of accuracy over length by stiffing his 4 iron to the flag on the 180 yard into the wind 14th. Nick Donald
