The Autumn sun once again shone on OAGS and Tandridge showed its true colours – beautifully presented with a fabulous lunch!
The first ‘no holds barred’ intra society meeting since Covid saw a field of 20 players take part and competing for some impressive silverware.
The Sydney Fry scratch cup was a tense affair which saw two players tied with a gross 76, David Rutnam pipping Mat Flint by one stroke on the back nine.
Mat, playing with a two stroke reduction for winning last time, was one of 4 players to score 36 points in the handicap stableford for the Roy Thirkell Cup. He was joined by David Rutnam, Peter Dickinson and John Simpson. Peter took second place with a back nine of 21 points. All were eclipsed by the very impressive 39 points gained by Alex Mitchel who took home the silverware.
The hearty lunch was too much for many, save for the 7 enthusiasts who played 9 holes at dusk.
