We had a fantastic day at Deal playing competitive fun foursomes golf either side of a delicious lunch.  When the full 18 holes was opened at Royal Cinque Ports in 1899 a newspaper reported:

‘it is now a magnificent links and required thoroughly good golf to negotiate it, as all bad shots are most properly punished’

The golf course keeps improving and the new bunkers, dunes and waste areas will be a triumph.  The changes will make it even more difficult to circumnavigate at the Hewitt.

Huge thanks to Michael Schenstrom, the Deal match captain, and indeed all of the Deal members for truly enjoyable day.

Oh, by the way, Dulwich won the first 3 matches but the Deal tail wagged and Deal also proved to be more experienced lunchers coming out with a 7-5 victory at the end of the day.  The victorious team are seen with beaming smiles surrounding Michael, who was holding the Brewmaster Bowl.  Really looking forward to next years edition.
